    Dedication: Praying with King Solomon

Have you ever dedicated your “temple” to God? Scripture tells us that we are made in God’s image and that when the Holy Spirit of God lives in us we are the Temple of the Holy Spirit. For many of us this dedication happens when we decide to be baptized. Baptism is an outward show of what God has done within us. We are saved by grace through faith. We are cleansed of sin by Christ, which is symbolized by going down into the baptism waters. Then we are made spiritually alive, a type of resurrection, symbolized by coming out of the baptism waters. We dedicate our lives to Christ…

Summer Fruit Devotion: Gentleness Day 3

Gentle Correction “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.” 2 Timothy 2:22-26 Doesn’t it sound awesome, that correcting our opponents…

Summer Fruit Devotion: Kindness Day 2

Kindness Forgives “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a…

Summer Fruit Devotion: Patience Day 5

Waiting for Jesus “This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens…

A Mom After God’s Own Heart

I miss the cute days! I’m having terrible Instagram jealously lately! So many of my friends have young families and post oodles of pics of their cute little ones! New babies that I can practically smell through the screen, park days, bike rides, ice cream treats, crayon drawings… My boys aren’t so little anymore. If I tried to post them on IG you would get nothing but boys on the couch playing video games, or boys in the backyard shooting the pellet rifle at old crockery, or boys arguing about who left the scrap of trash that I just asked them to throw away. If I posted their sketchbooks it’s…
