B is for Beauty

Have you ever wanted something so bad for so long that you pretty much gave up on ever achieving it? That is how I felt about ever being a published author. It’s been a long and winding couple of years on my journey of writing fiction, but it’s finally happened and I want to share it with you.

I know my typical focus on this blog is Bible studies and spiritual growth, but for those of you who enjoy fiction, I’m excited to announce my first published short story, Beau and the Crone. It’s the story of a young Prince who loses more than he bargained for when he trades his life for his father’s to a mysterious witch in the swamp.

I published Beau and the Crone under my fiction pen-name, M. Renee Vess. It’s one of ten awesome short stories in the book B is for Beauty, a Beauty and the Beast Anthology. It’s got a little bit of everything from fantasy to mystery to sci-fi. It released on January 1st and is currently 99c for the ebook, that’s less than 10c per story! The ebook price goes back up in a couple days. It’s also available in paperback. CLICK HERE to order your copy.

So what am I doing now? Well, I’m writing more short stories! In addition to worship and Bible study, writing was a huge help in keeping me grounded and doing something I enjoyed through lockdown and all the weirdness of last year. I want to continue to grow as an author and share the joy of the stories I have to tell. If you want to connect with me on my fiction writing journey you can follow me at M. Renee Vess on Facebook and Instagram.
